Trident Computer offers Waste Recycling and Data Destruction

TRIDENT Computer Corporation is a business-to-business VAR of computer hardware famed for the quality of its customer service. Now, TRIDENT has partnered with ShredCorp, the data destruction professionals, to offer environmentally safe recycling of used and end-of-life electronic hardware.

Amazingly, of the 2.25 million tons of PCs, laptops, printers, TVs, cell-phones and other hardware that become obsolete every year, only 18% is recycled. The rest of this discarded equipment, including devices which the EPA labels 'hazardous' due to its high lead content, ends up in landfills.

These devices are becoming the largest source of lead in landfills, and under Federal Law must receive special handling. Trident's clients receive a Certificate of Recycling which states that our 'Closed Loop' recycling process complies fully with all EPA-mandated health and safety regulations.

Any hardware that cannot be recycled is broken down to raw material or commodity level goods, and resold to OEM manufacturers. Complete destruction of all hard drives eliminates any possibility of data theft.

In addition, any company to which Trident sells your recyclable material must sign an agreement stating that they will not resell it to a foreign country.

At present, more than 80% of electronic waste that is supposedly recycled is actually exported. If you drop off a PC at your local e-waste collection site, there is a good chance it will end up in Pakistan or China, where it will be disassembled by a child. TRIDENT guarantees that any electronic waste we process will not be exported to countries with no environmental or worker safety laws.
